BALLYMUN GOES SPORTS MAD!

A packed programme for the fourth Ballymun Health and Fitness Summit and Festival (from September 13- 28) will include sports ranging from athletics to volleyball and health-related activities at venues all over Ballymun.
Included in the programme are the annual Ballymun Sports Awards on Wednesday September 17 at the Axis theatre (7pm)., which celebrate the achievements of Ballymun’s sports stars of the future and their coaches.
On Thursday (September 18), Learn Local chef Eilis Davenport presents a showcase on how to eat well. A day later, on Friday September 19, there’s an opportunity to join one of the many local sports clubs at a special sign-up morning at the Plaza (11am-1pm).

Highlight of a busy Saturday (September 20) is the annual Ballymun Powerlifting Open and world championships trial at Trinity Comprehensive School (10am), which will host a number of events. Also scheduled is orienteering in Poppintree Park (12 noon), and the inaugural Ballymun Darts Open in Trinity Comp from 7pm with spectators welcome.
The fortnight of activities will conclude with the inaugural Dublin Judo Open on Sunday September 28.
